Our story starts out with three artists. Julian Starks, a bouncer, fitness instructor, out of work actor and struggling filmmaker living in his car. Bill Jacobson, actor, insurance salesman, father, husband and Jennifer Sorenson, actress by day, waitress by night. All three trying to keep it together while striving to succeed in the ‘film industry.’ Together the three set out on an unbelievable five-year quest: JOURNEY TO SUNDANCE.
JOURNEY TO SUNDANCE examines, in a real-life and often-emotional narrative, the crushing reality of the fierce competition of the motion picture industry, and the plight of many young directors. It offers a glimpse into the altruistic history of the SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL, the multimillion-dollar, star-studded annual reception that it now draws and searches for the true meaning of INDEPENDENT FILMMAKING.

At the Film Festival in Park City, Utah, many celebrity friends gathered at the Saturn Outlook venue at the Village at the Lift to read children’s books to local school kids in an effort to raise awareness for the National Education Association’s (NEA) “Read Across America” literacy campaign which is commemorating its 10th Anniversary.
Academy Award winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow along with Nick Cannon, Christian Slater, Kristen Beil and Keri Russell, among others, read to local first and second graders plus signed copies of children’s books which will be distributed by Saturn retailers to local schools for fund-raising purposes.
