A scattered people, the descendants of storied sea kings of the ancient West, struggle to survive in a lonely wilderness as a dark force relentlessly bends its will toward their destruction. Yet amidst these valiant, desperate people, hope remains. A royal house endures unbroken from father to son.

This 70 minute original drama is set in the time before the War of the Ring and tells the story of the DĂșnedain, the Rangers of the North, before the return of the King. Inspired by only a couple of paragraphs written by Tolkien in the appendices of the Lord of the Rings we follow Arathorn and Gilraen, the parents of Aragorn, from their first meeting through a turbulent time in their people’s history.

What websites can help with raising funds for an independent film?

Monday, June 7th, 2010

I would like specific ways, such as websites, that can help funding to shoot an independent film. Also, if there are other ways, what specific ways work and what are sure fire ways to get shot down? Thanks.

I have no idea. Good luck!

Left 4 Dead (Short Film) HD

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

A short film based off the original concept of the game “Left 4 Dead”, back again after 1,070,845 views and 11,042 comments from the original upload!

This short film was written for my Year 11 High School Media project, (August 2007) and it’s attention to detail was limited– and as such the story, characters and concept have great differences to the game Left 4 Dead. It was shot in two days, and actors were hastily grabbed together, locations had little planning, and many of the shots and some of the dialogue had to be created on the spot. I’d just like to add these comments to help many viewers understand the context of this short film. Thanks, Jordan (Director)

Special thanks to George Donikian and Robert Mascara from Network Ten for their support in allowing us to use, and shoot in the Channel 10 News Set :D

I’m auditioning for an independent film, does anyone have any tips?

Monday, May 10th, 2010

There is an audition for an independent film this week and I really want to play the role. It’s not the lead but I do play a character it is important to the storyline; she’s a 17 year old girl who is troubled and depressed. I have never auditioned for anything other then plays and this is an open audition which is very very rare and it’s also a great opportunity but I was wondering does anyone know exactly what Indy films are looking for in actors and what are somethings I can do to definitely get the part?

I got a part in an indie movie last year. I didn’t really want to do it and i think thats half the reason I got it, cos I really didn’t care either way. I think the main thing is just to relax and make sure you do your research. Have you been depressed? If not, talk to someone who has and try to get inside their head.

THIS FILM IS NOT YET RATED- Trailer

Sunday, May 9th, 2010

This Film Is Not Yet Rated asks whether Hollywood movies and independent films are rated equally for comparable content; whether sexual content in gay-themed movies are given harsher ratings penalties than their heterosexual counterparts; whether it makes sense that extreme violence is given an R rating while sexuality is banished to the cutting room floor; whether Hollywood studios receive detailed directions as to how to change an NC-17 film into an R while independent film producers are left guessing; and finally, whether keeping the raters and the rating process secret leave the MPAA entirely unaccountable for its decisions.
