So, currently, the country with the largest and strongest film industry is the United States of America. Will this continue to be the reality by 2060? Or will another country rise as #1 in the international film market? If you do predict another country will replace the U.S. as the largest film market, then what country do you believe it would be?

What are the chances of a 14 year old getting his movie entered into the Buffalo International Film Festival?

It’s a zombie movie that has depth and a good story to follow. I’m gonna try getting it entered into BIFF but am a bit worried they won’t accept because of my age. I’m not sure if they have an age limit. Also any tips on how to film with a Samsung SMX F50 digital camera would be greatly appreciated.

I have had a number of films accepted in festivals (and been on a few admission juries) so here is some advice.

1 – Your youth is a plus and will actually assist you in getting your films shown. Audiences LOVE to see the work of upcoming filmmakers.

2 – Keep your film short. No more then 5 – 10 minutes long. Juries would rather screen three short films than one 20min one. A feature film should be at least 96mins.

3 – Keep the hand-held camera work to a minimum, use artificial lighting and good make-up. If your zombie make-up looks amateurish then NO festival will screen it.

4 – The Buffalo International Film Festival is a lofty goal. Over 20.000 movies are sent in and a very few are chosen. You will be competing with professional filmmakers with budgets in the tens of thousands . Make a play for a few local festivals first and work your way up.

5 – BUT, if you have made a film that outshines what is on TV, i.e cast, story, effects, direction than, for for it!

When is the Toronto International Film Festival Red Carpet 2011 taking place?

Hi, the celebrity line-up for this year’s TIFF red carpet is pretty awesome! I’m really looking forward to the event but problem is, I don’t even know when it is. I just know it’s sometime between September 8-18. Any help is appreciated! Full points Thanks!

The TIFF’s held at various theatres and venues in Toronto.
So are red carpet screenings.

No reserved seating. Get their early if you are going with friends or you won’t be sitting together.

If you are looking for a simple film with great direction, the one I would suggest is Amélie directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Its a french movie but you can view with subtitles. The film has excellent execution and is considered one of the best direction to make a simple story look fabulous.

you need to check out the festival guide for world premieres or north american premieres, movie stars often turn out for those movies. The festival takes place at many different theatres over almost two weeks. so there are many red carpets.

Apparently it is between the 21st July and 7th of August 2011 and I was wondering if anyone has been to it in the past? Was it good and is it a good place to meet new interesting people?

Also where exactly do I go as I am not familiar with Melbourne.

The 2011 Festival runs from 212 July to 7 August at several venues around Melbourne. There are a few events associated with the festival, but most people just turn up to watch the movies. It is on between the 21st of July and 7th of August 2011 in Melbourne… I looked at the website but are not really sure where to go? Is it downtown or somewhere near St Kilda.

If you have been before is it worth the experience?

It is in and around the central business district. St Kilda has its own film festival which is on right now. All of the screening and panel venues are easily accessible once you’ve made it into the city centre by either tram or train to Flinders Street station (ACMI is just across the road, and the Town Hall is a short walk,) Melbourne Central Station which is close to RMIT, or Parliament station right by the Kino Cinema.

As for whether or not you should go, take a look at the ‘First Peek’ programme when it goes online tomorrow and decide for yourself if there is enough to tempt you. Personally, I can usually find enough – particularly in the late night programmes – to keep me happy.
